ISTANBUL NEXT- Future of Fashion Design. Made in Turkey is a unique platform created to present turkish designers in international fashion weeks. The approach of Istanbul Next is to show Istanbul’s emerging design scene and Turkey’s established importance as a textile nation in internationally acknowledged global fashion weeks.

The platform has been established in 2012 in Berlin and already showcased seven turkish designers during Berlin Fashion Week in 2012 and 2013. Over 2.000 invited guests attended three presentations at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, the fair participations at Premium Exhibitions and Capsule Tradeshow attracted over 30.000 guests and two parties in cooperation with the acclaimed concept store VOO Berlin were among the highlights of Berlin Fashion Week in both years.

Istanbul Next attracted a wide spread media attention both in germany, Turkey and internationally. Over 240 international press clippings in print, online radio and TV media were garnered in two years.

The featured designers were Burçe Bekrek, Günseli Türkay and Zeynep Erdoğan in 2012 and Asli Filinta, Ece Gözen, Nazli Bozdağ and Nevra Karaca in 2013.

The reinforcement of the mutual relations between Istanbul and major international fashion capitols like Paris and London is a core concern of the exchange. As Istanbul is already establishing itself as a fashion and art metropolis in a steady pace especially as a bridge to Asia, Istanbul Next’s aim is to widen the presentations to these cities in the long run.

The platform has started in 2012 with the support of Promotion Fund of the Prime Ministry of the Republic Turkey and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and well reputated sponsors like Turkish Airlines and DHL.
